The Epstein File

here’s a plausible op-ed breakdown of the scandal….
Did Epstein have a client list of global leaders engaged in pedophilia and human trafficking? Was Epstein killed by the CIA, Mossad, MI6, or another secretive government agency as alleged by Carlson, Jones, and others?
The answers to these questions have become less important than the implications of the White House’s denial that they are true.
The leader of the MAGA movement has not only denied the validity of their claims but declared the subject an irrelevant distraction from real issues.
Henceforth, the president’s MAGA base will have to decide whether they believe Trump or Carlson.

It's funny watching relatively intelligent people pretending to be totally bewildered by when the administration was lying, because they must be lying about something! When they implied that there were huge juicy files with named incriminated names, so that they could use that on the campaign trail to try to get elected in a reality TV platform, or after they got elected and told people that the truth is much less salacious and juicy? I wonder where the most likely lie was?!?!? Omg DEEP STATE, let's all say it together with Tucker Carsen and Alex Jones.

You’re confusing joy at watching them being hoisted on their own petard with joining in the conspiracy theories.
The funny thing with Epstein is it wasn’t just the Q-anon types. Even normie republicans got to believing their own memes and developed the absurd view that whatever motivated Epstein - whether foreign intelligence or influence or money - he somehow limited his ‘favors’ to democrats.

Whatever you've convinced yourself is going on in your own mind is not my concern. The fact is that in the public conversation, such as the snippets you posted above from your twitter feed, everybody is giving credence to the existence of this incriminating list, and a coverup now fully joined by the Trump administration.

I guess you can believe that, after watching them pander to every conspiracy out there and create many new ones of their own, that I had to ‘convince myself’ to enjoy seeing one bite them in the ass. But it should be obvious that came rather naturally to me.

Your sadistic pleasures are not in dispute. I do dispute the notion that the public conversation currently contains those who don't actually think an incriminating list exists. That means most people on the left have given more credence to the list's existence, now that it scores them political points. Exactly the same motivation the right had, for believing the list exists.

There never was a list. Trump knew that all along, although it made a great talking point to both his base and the hysterical progressive left.
What’s beginning to reveal itself now is Trump’s version of the Night of the Long Knives to purge the “more radical elements” of the MAGAt cult.

Re ‘there never was a list’ likely true, though there were many reports, including from the DoJ, that his properties had hidden cameras everywhere and there was a cache of CDs with videos on them with labels that would say [girls name] with [Epstein guest name]. The mere collection of such titles is essentially a list.
