I’ve been twice in the last year and have noticed it feels safer than it did just a few years ago.

I have been there three times in last three months, giants game, italian consulate visa appt, and wnba game. I agree with this premise. It is an awe inspiring city that demands a good pair of legs if one is walking it. Some of the steep hills are almost criminal. I had to walk up one on my way to the consulate dressed in a new suit and i thought i was going to need a tbar lift to get to the top. Was sweating profusely when i got to the consulate. Still, there are known spots that if i were a single female walking at night i would tend to avoid, like the Tenderloin district. But yeah, the people are all generally very friendly as one would expect in liberal town USA.

I prefer Sausalito if I'm staying in the area.

Recall of Boudin and a decision to start policing again.
