Got to love AI
-
One of the joys of being old is that I have learned to appreciate technology – perhaps more than people who have known it all their lives. My latest sojourn into AI was related to some software/hardware/networking issues at home. In the past, I might have posted on a message board or contacted tech services of different companies – and it easily could have been transformed into a multi-day frustration to get things to work. Using AI, I could work iteratively to solve the multiple issues necessary to get things to work. Admittedly, some of the issues were…me…and some of it was that I’m working with equipment from different manufacturers with their long-winded recondite manuals providing more information than I need – but which take time to wade through – and providing plenty of opportunities for wrong direction. Using AI, I got clear instructions on exactly what to do – and when something didn’t work, just report back – and ask for additional clarification. SUCCESS – new computer, new streamer, and new music server interfaced with two different music systems and a digital piano. Less fuss, no phone calls, no misdirected anger, etc. AI seems to get better every month I use it – and I’m using more than one product. Best thing since the invention of the internet.
