Today I saw two Canadian geese gliding low, near the ground in my back yard. After gliding around for a while they flew to a tree to sit a while.
I know they were Canadian geese because they said "Honk honk, eh?".......

I HATE Canada geese.
I remember driving along and a flock flew over my car. One of them dropped a load on my windshield.
They're aggressive, nasty and dirty AF.

There is a solution. They are also tasty. But no one wants to do that.

You can go to jail for that, iirc. Killing migratory birds, or even disturbing their eggs in the nest, is illegal.

Seems stupid when they are pests. We have people go around the lake most years and shake eggs in the nest to kill them. Wasteful. If you're going to kill the chicks anyway make a freaking omelet.

I like seeing wildlife on my land. I'm out far enough that no one would know if you killed something, but I wouldn't kill it. I don't even allow hunters on my property. I've even got (I think this is what they are) herons that hang out near the water that runs through the property. I've even seen a few black bears in the past.
What I do NOT like seeing are copperheads and rattlesnakes. I don't run into many rattlesnakes, just a few. And a very few cobras (here they call them "spread heads"). But copperheads are as thick as flies.

Yeah, there's a big difference between defending yourself from an obnoxious goose and an aggressive snake. You can punt a goose. It won't log much air time but It won't come back either. I've had to do it a couple times around our lake. A snake bite happens much faster and they are very hard to kick.

One of my former partners referred to them as "flying rats."

You creep geese. Get together with three or four of your buddies, pull the plug out of your shotguns and creep up on a nice rice field full of geese.
If you can catch them on the water, as you come up and everybody shoots...Well, you can fill up a pickup truck bed. It's only illegal if you get caught...
