I got an invite to join a bunch of people from my high school. It's been decades and I don't think I'd remember any of them.
It's been many decades. Many. I'm sure it will be awkward.
Should I go?

It never pays to leave the house.

I went to my 20 and 25 year reunions. Pleasantly surprised how much fun it was and I had lost track of most of these people. 20 year was before Facebook even. Now at least I see their kids and cats.
I missed the 30 due to my transplant and we didn’t have a 35. Next year is 40. Damn.

Sure. I get together pretty regularly with people from my graduating class. There’s something very special about about friends who knew you when.

This is true. I'll consider this opinion my decision.

The people who enjoy leaving the house won’t shut up about it, and that’s why it seems like the overwhelming consensus is that leaving the house is awesome. But actually, the silent majority knows that leaving the house is total garbage.

I am evidently part of a group of hermits. Who knew?

My graduating class?
Probably 70% live within 20 miles. 10% live within 3 miles.

It's weird. I got a "classmates.com" account a long time ago, and I saw a message from a classmate that several people in my high school class get together locally about once a month.
I'm tempted.

The worst that could happen is you owe some of them money.

I was the guy that moved away. In fact the very day after graduation. That’s why I wasn’t in touch with most everyone.

That's a long way from being the worst thing. He could have given one of them venereal disease, or a child, or possibly even both!
My HS is having it's 50th anniversary this year. I went there when it was a brand new school, the first year. I don't think I can get to the reunion, sadly.

I remember (and feel closer to) my elementary school classmates more than my middle/high school classmates.
Wonder anyone else feels the same way. -

We were the first class to go all four years in our new high school too. 50th was a couple years ago.

Wonder anyone else feels the same way.I’ve been in touch with just one person from middle school as an adult and that was 15 years ago. Didn’t help that I moved right before high school.
