“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

Excellent piece. My small farm town had racial prejudice, certainly. But by and large if you were a good citizen and paid your bills you were respected.

        Good article.

(But there is a tendency to make over romantic the past. And kids may not understand the reality of what adults are going through, especially in a farming community. There is a reason why the average age of farmers is getting older and older, not only in the US, but many other places. Farming is hard hard work, long long hours, and there is so much a person cannot control (pests, weather, world events that will affect crop prices, etc.)).

I know I have mentioned a movie - Midnight in Paris. A guy from modern times goes back to 1920's because he thinks it is the best time. Someone from that period wants to go back to 1890's because THAT was the best time.
