One caveat...I have no problem with absentee voting, say, within 2 weeks on an election. Go by the courthouse or locally provided polling place (mall, precinct station, select schools), provide your ID and vote.
Other than that, same day with ID. Maybe extend the voting hours a bit and open more polling places...

Early voting has worked very well for us, but always in person with ID.

I hate mail-in ballots. Too easy to perpetuate fraud.

Much too. Only for military overseas. even then we could do better.

(As an FYI, Taiwan does not allow any overseas voting. Voting must be done in person at your home town. No absentee. No mail in)
