I spoke about Harold Ford the other day. I think he has a way out of the wilderness for the Dems.

    1. Ditch DEI. It's an 80/20 issue and they're getting killed with it.
    2. Abortion is not the issue it was. Concentrate your efforts on the state level, not the national stage.
    3. Admit that the deficit is out of control and work with the GOP in making cuts. The difference is in what you cut. Do some old fashioned political horse-trading.
    4. Admit the insanity of the border and help fix it.
    5. Work with the GOP on election integrity.
    6. Try to recapture the working class with targeted programs.

In other words, get aligned with the interests of most of the country. Duh. We did not have to have another Trump term if the Dems hadn't been so weak and crazy. They need another Clinton.

        @Mik Exactly.

I dont think that President Trump was elected and the Republics won congress because people loved them. It was more a vote against the democrats and their weak candidates and messages that were out of touch.

Nah, it’s not the Dems’ fault that Trump got elected.
Trump’s re-election is squarely on those who voted for Trump.

According to LuFinn, Trump has a ton of policy similarities to Clinton.

And produced a budget surplus … alas, the Republicans impeached him anyway.
Srsly, the Republicans have been rather unprincipled, going all the way back to the Clinton administration.

Yep, he was diddling an intern in the Oval Office and lied about it. Lost his law license, also.

I don’t think anyone would even raise an eyebrow about that anymore.

Instead of keeping the bar raised above the low watermark set by Clinton, the Republicans went “hold my beer” and doubled down on pushing the bar lower.

Look, I realize you have no problem having sex with any consenting person, including children. or possibly animals (without their consent).

I don't think you have much of a moral perch from which to squawk.

Very. GHWB warned about it in 92.
