The head of the New York University College Republicans resigned after calling President Donald Trump’s youngest son an “oddity on campus.”
Kaya Walker described NYU freshman Barron Trump to Vanity Fairlast week as “sort of like an oddity on campus,” adding “he goes to class, he goes home.” She also told the magazine that one of her professors joked that the first son “doesn’t really belong here,” referring to the school’s historically liberal community.
In response, College Republicans of America said in a statement Monday that Walker’s do “not align with the values and principles upheld by our organization.” While the group blasted the media’s portrayal of her comments, they said they sill found them “inappropriate.”
and
The organization broke with “100 years of precedent” when it endorsed Donald Trump in January 2024, ahead of the primaries. “Our support for President Trump is, and has been, a pillar of our organization,” the group said.

@taiwan_girl Did you have an opinion about the action taken to kill the congestion pricing policy?
My buddy Sean has an opinion.

Yes. I think that congestion pricing is actually a good thing, so it should remain in place.

Yeah I like it too.
I generally prefer the price system to queueing when it comes to rationing scarce goods. It’s much more efficient.

Same with parking. I’d rather know the spot is there for me when I need it for a price rather than know that the parking spots that are never available are free.

I'm sure we all like markets, but good ideas have a way of crashing against the hard rocks of reality, when implemented. Sean makes some more granular points about this implementation.

Weak sauce, indeed.

Agree. What she said was pretty "benign", and probably not untrue. Not sure why she was forced to resign.
(But, I am sure that the lot of reasons why Barron Trump seems like an oddity is because he is surrounded by Secret Service. Certainly not a normal college experience)

Maybe.
The point being, she should have declined any comment about Barron Trump. Period.

Agree. Probably shouldnt have said anything. Still, I think the punishment did not fit the crime. Wasnt like she was mean or anything.
But, i am sure he has a tough time there. Or anywhere. Just like any kid of a famous person. Most of the people only want to get close to them because of who their parent(s) are. I think it would make you fairly "distrustful" of meeting people and making friends. Fortunately, I dont have to deal with that. 555
