The closing line of his letter: “I expect you’ll find someone who is enough of a coward to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

Just read that before he clerked for Roberts, Scotten clerked for Kavanaugh when he was still on the court of appeals. He wouldn’t have made it to Roberts office without a direct and very strong recommendation from Kavanaugh. I hope that weasel Bove is paying attention.

The federal judge overseeing the criminal case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams ordered the mayor and federal prosecutors to appear in court on Wednesday to discuss the Trump administration’s effort to drop the case, a move that has sparked a crisis within the Justice Department and chaos within the Adams administration.
U.S. District Judge Dale Ho wrote in an order Tuesday that Adams, his lawyers and prosecutors should be prepared to discuss prosecutors’ rationale for seeking to dismiss the case, the reasons for Adams’ agreement to do so and the procedure for resolving the motion.
