I wonder how North Korea gets its place near the bottom.
Yes, it's of course one of the worst places to be on earth, but it's not obvious that corruption is also a big thing there, and we barely have any intel about what's going on in this place.

It is pretty corrupt. Because very few people have anything, the general population are always looking for a "edge"
- getting into one school or another
- extra ration tickets
- special work assignments
- getting assigned to a certain floor of apartment
- how can I make the authority overlook me having something I am not supposed to?
etc.
So much there is in relationships. How much can this person help me and what do I need to do to make that happen?
