Strangely difficult to get any clarity about when the confirmation votes will happen for Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, and RFK Jr. I did see that Tulsi's vote may be happening tonight or tomorrow.

    Education is extremely important.

I think they wait until the whips have the votes. Delays probably mean arms are being twisted and/or palms are being greased.

      Only non-witches get due process.

My understanding is that there will be 0 GOP dissenting votes against Gabbard.

She’s all but rubber stamped confirmed.

Tulsi confirmed. I think maybe the RFK vote is happening now.

That’s the procedural vote, not confirmation. From what I understand.

Meanwhile, McConnel still has his heart set on torpedoing Trump. He was the only GOP dissenting vote for Gabbard.

I'm not sure McConnel will make his full term. The Murder Turtle is nearing the end.

@Renauda One can frame it as all the republicans but one being affixed to Trump's anus, but I'm not sure that's more truthy than this one republican being motivated to torpedo Trump for personal reasons.

How about one GOP senator not worried about reelection so he can vote his conscience?

It's not like he voted against everyone. But she and RFK are obvious nos to him if you've followed his career at all.

@jon-nyc He was a no on Hegseth as well. I guess he was a yes on Bondi, at least. But he's been public with his anti-Trump rhetoric, which you would consider truthy, and which I would consider rationally suspect.

I wonder if personal financial gain plays a role in this process.

Yeah that was apparent early on. The battle will be more about specific policies. A letter signed by a bunch of pharma, academic, and patient groups was sent to me just today to see if we would sign on. It was about cuts to FDA.

NIH cuts are getting a lot of attention. 22 states sued, including some red ones.
