There's a great scam going on right now where they send you an unsolicited package with a QR code on it. When you scan the QR code, you're in trouble as it sucks data out of your phone.

Ax pointed us to an app that scans them without opening the page and tells you what it is.

Hell yes. My GE Cafe range is internet attached which pisses me off. I turn off the data collection in my car. Leave me the fuck alone. Checking the fluids in my car might be convenient.

Nothing in this house linked to the WiFi other than my Blusound music streamer and our iPhones. No appliances that is certain including our newly purchased electric kitchen range.

I even turn Siri off. I don't want anything that listens to me and buys things it thinks I want.

I've currently got somebody that doesn't listen to me and refuses to buy me things I want, so Siri might be an improvement?

Siri is off here.
I did connect my smart lock to my phone so I could reset the code when we moved in. I could but haven’t connected the thermostat and the security system, which I don’t even use.

I have never used Siri. No need - it has never been turned on.

Siri is on but location services is off. That seems to limit quite a lot, but still lets me to get most of her useful functionality.

I have location on, mostly so I know where my daughter is. It's a bit pathetic, admittedly

Siri does everything, location is on, microphone is on.
She listens to everything and I get Facebook ads based on what she hears.

The same guy replied to his post:
Can’t believe I typed that entire rant and forgot to mention I don’t want to leave a 25% tip on the touchscreen.
He seems like our people.

My air conditioner is online and talks to people when I'm sleeping. And sometimes it gets very, very cold at night.
