Watching that bastard Trump pontificating and playing the victim again from the Oval Office on CBC Newsworld. He’s back again on us becoming the 51st state but can’t understand why 90% + of country are not interested or would even consider it. He really appears sad and hurt. Am beginning to think this whole exercise is that Trump covets this country for its natural resources and water to which he feels exclusive entitlement. In that sense he poses an existential threat to this country every bit as malevolent as Russia or China. Owing to proximity, perhaps even more so.

For the record, I have little confidence that the WH bastard, Trump, will not move the goal posts again and make additional demands and threats on this nation and its sovereignty. He is a thoroughly corrupted and loathsome lizard. This crisis is by no means over.

So apparently the 1.3B program had already been announced in December. So the concession was appointing a ‘fentanyl czar’.
Looks like Trump was looking for an off ramp.
Closer to $1.9 billion when you add in the affected provinces contributing to their own resources to shore up the border areas.
But you’re right that it had already been offered and agreed upon back in December. Part of the reason why the grandstanding and brinkmanship was so incoherent to us.
Normally we don’t do “czars” here. But if it serves as a soother in the petulant little bastard’s mouth then fine.
If that’s what will make him happy, he can go ahead and suck on it for as long as necessary to get him to shut his bleeding cake hole for awhile.
