Back in the day, when we made rounds, the service would grab the "chart rack" and wheel it from room to room.

Yup. I imagine it's gotten worse since I retired.

We used to call them "COWs" - Computers on Wheels. Some patient complained about the terminology when she heard a nurse say, "Bring that COW over here....:
