Someone in my neighborhood "trapped a stray cat" today and noticed its paw was injured. He posted to NextDoor to inquire whether anybody knew of vets who were open. His next post, after having been helped find a vet, was shock and dismay that there is no health insurance for stray cats. His next post was outrage that the vet wanted $2000 for treating the cat, and accused him of making up a story, and accused him of animal abandonment after he just left it there.

    Education is extremely important.

My Dad got me insurance. Considering that I was expensive as fuck, they considered a good idea.

It has a "pre-existing" exclusion: Anything that was diagnosed within 14 days of the policy's activation date is not covered.

Most other insurers make it 30 days.

          It was through Petsbest.com

The monthly premium is relatively cheap.

The only issue is that if the condition was diagnosed before the 14 day exclusion, it's going to be denied.

I went to the vet about a month ago, and my $83 fee was applied to my deductible.

My dad likes it because you can select what deductible you want, and balance that against your monthly payment.

@Boris What level of coverage did your daddy buy for you? Did he get the BestWellness or EssentialWelness option?

I am thinking about Elite coverage plan but not the optional plans. They add a lot to the premium.
