Restaurants are struggling.

Not just restaurants. The Biden Economy has been very hard on small business. I heard a woman interviewed this morning about her small business in Massachusetts... She's been in business 35 years and the last two or three years have been a huge struggle for the same reasons outlined in Mik's article - higher labor costs, higher insurance costs, exorbitant vehicle costs and a certain price-point where the customer base just digs its heels in.

They could try mandatory 30% service fees.
Just kidding.
Mik, has this hit any of the restaurants you used to frequent?

Yes. I have told my favorites to raise prices as necessary but keep the quality. That's what I go for. I'll get used to the price. I don't know if most people will follow that path, but I hope so.
We are fortunate that we're able to roll with the higher prices so far, but this idea that every job should be one that could raise a family is just insane. And that's just one factor.
