Paul Graham on the origin of wokeness

Longish but excellent.
For those unfamiliar with him, he’s a cofounder of Y-combinator and helped launch many startups including Reddit, Twitch, Airbnb, etc. Before that he created an offshoot of LISP called Arc.

One thing I liked is the way he said that a proper explanation of its origins would account for why it happened when it did and not a decade sooner or later.

Agreed. The timeline aspect is probably the most interesting part, as well as pointing out that it's really not a new phenomenon. The tolerant 60's were a reaction to the prigs of the day.
