This is absurd. Especially since I'm considering a tankless heater now.

Probably will get undone in a few months. Plus I think it only affects a subset of the tankless.

Can we take a moment to chuckle at the headline? Reminds me of the old joke about a meteor coming which will destroy earth and the NYT headline is 'World To End Tomorrow, Women And Minorities Hardest Hit'.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

@Mik said in Biden in hot water...:

I'm considering a tankless heater now.

Why? My understanding is that the big advantage is that you never run out of hot water. With just the two of us, that's never a consideration.

          THey're more compact, of course.

Mik always takes a two hour shower before his manipedi.

              @jon-nyc LOL.

Just looked at Home Depot- they run anywhere from $300 to $600.

I imagine, in my case with only the two of us, we could get by with smaller.

We had one in our old place. Mrs. Phibes likes to take a bath, and one of the kids has showers that last longer than some wars have gone on for, so we notice it now we have a regular heater.

Based on the above, I can kind of see Biden's point.

                I was only joking

Exactly how much climate crisis will be prevented?

And how much will it cost?

I'm sure Mr. Biden has agonized over these questions.

I put a Navien tankless in a dozen years ago. No regrets. I also maintain it myself.
No need to pay $350 for plumber/tech to circulate 2 gallons of cleaning vinegar through the coil for a half hour once a year. Annual maintenance procedure on YouTube. Cost: one time $50 for a self priming in line pump, a clean plastic 10 gal. pail from Home Depot, three hose bibs, 8 feet or more of tubing and $8 for 2 gallons of vinegar. Everything pays for it self by the end of the first flush.

                    Elbows up!

Agreed. Plus no tank to drain or leak and they last longer.

I'd rather they spend the money on ensuring clean drinking water was available throughout the country. I know, different budget.
