Ya’ll do realize that the MRNA Vax was not a weakened form of the virus, right? It taught your cells to produce a protein that looked like the virus, so your body would attack it, but it wasn’t a weakened form of the virus.

Probably not everybody realizes that.

Obviously I know that. But that’s not an out for him. Someone with vaccine literacy would have said ‘why can’t we just make an attenuated virus vaccine like China and Russia did?’
You certainly wouldn’t say ‘instead of a vaccine why can’t we just have… and then go on to describe 150 year old vaccine technology.

It seems to me that the guy was trying to be a little humorous and. “Ironic” while pointing out that the vaccine wasn’t what most thought/think it is and this post was made in the middle of the argument over natural immunity from prior exposure…

Could have posted that under "is our children learning."

Except most vaccines aren’t attenuated. Most are now subunit or inactivated.

It remains the case that he basically said ‘let’s not have a vaccine instead let’s have a vaccine’.
The only out for him is if, as Horace suggested, he was being ironic. But I think his brand is more in-your-face than subtle and ironic.

I doubt if there was any intended irony. He may have been thinking about the block/neighbourhood measles parties for kids back in the 50s and 60s.

Actually, that was me referring to it as being ironic, but I would hardly call that subtle. It seems pretty heavy handed to me, but nobody else seems to see it that way.
