    This year two different Marriotts charged me ‘resort fees’ of $25 a day.

        Great idea. Fees should be "all in", unless it is something that is optional.

          Exactly. Bag checking fee? Fine (though asinine as it complicates boarding). Seat selection fee? Ok but borderline. If you don’t have an assigned seat you can get booted if they oversell.

            I’ll be glad to see more pricing transparency, but let’s not pretend this will save people money.

                It could save money because there is price competition in these markets. But now it’s on fake prices.
