Let me guess… Weed killer (though be careful, it kills everything) and soil treatment (in certain soils)?
It’s always astounded me that it can be used to kill plants but also to make fantastic fertilizer at the same time.

The weed killer is what I use mine for. I spread it over my paver patio, then put the sprinkler out on the patio. It washes all the ash down between the sandy cracks to keep anything from growing in between the pavers.

I have this vision of Jolly at Jon's house, and calls Jon over.
"I dont know what you are trying to pull here, but anybody can see that these ashes in the urn labeled Mom are clearly from a Red Maple! Probably one from northern Louisiana that was about 50 years old."
