Large drip coffee at the cafe inside Whole Foods: 2.89.

Can’t remember how far back you’d need to go to see that price at SBUX.

Surprised. Thought coffee growers had had a bad year.

It is relative to the desserts other drinks but still not that cheap.

Americanos are second-tier pricing, while brewed coffee is the cheapest thing on the menu. I thought I remembered them costing a dollar some years ago.

                  It’s $2.65 for a 12oz, $2.95 for a 20oz, and $3.25 for a 24oz.

(Which doesn’t make a lot of pricing sense. You go up 8oz for 30 cents, then the next 4oz is 30 cents.)

                      Venti is Italian for 20.

One time I ordered a grande coffee and the woman replied ‘Venti?’ I said ‘No, sedici’. Nobody laughed but me.

When the cashier asked for my name for the order, I told her “Spartacus”. When the barista brought the order up and hollered “Spartacus!” I stepped up and said “I am Spartacus” then another older guy stepped forward and said “I am Spartacus”… Then another guy, and another… Those poor androgynous twentysomethings were so confused.
