In the past few months, I've noticed a lot more non-fact kinds of posts on FB, TikTok, etc. They'll be something about a ridiculously high fine in sports, Lia Thomas surrendering Olympics medals, a celebrity death, the View is being cancelled, etc. The ruse is to people to respond with "about time" or "great news" or some other commentary. In any event, the noise to signal ratio has increased a lot - and is rewarded.
