There's a FB group where people can ask online veterinarians what to do about pet health issues. I would guess that 80% are along the lines of "My dog is bleeding" or "I found this lump" or "Does this diarrhea look normal?" or "He's stopped eating..."

    You get the picture.

Most responses from the vets say, "Take him to the ER..."

Today I saw this, and it made me laugh.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

That's one of the universal truths of internet questions. The answer to "should I see a doctor for <whatever made me ask this question>", is "yes". Same holds true for vets, I see.

Problem is, if someone says "no, don't see a doctor/vet", and then the person/pet ends up dying, they'd feel bad forever. But saying "yes" costs them nothing, in fact they seem like they care.

      Education is extremely important.

True - it costs "them" nothing.

But I would guess that at least 10% of the people who post there regarding what might be a serious situation, having been advised to seek emergency care , go on to say, "I know I should take him in, but I'm in a horrible spot financially and I can't afford it."
