Mr. Kennedy has singled out Froot Loops as an example of a product with too many artificial ingredients, questioning why the Canadian version has fewer than the U.S. version. But he was wrong. The ingredient list is roughly the same, although Canada’s has natural colorings made from blueberries and carrots while the U.S. product contains red dye 40, yellow 5 and blue 1 as well as Butylated hydroxytoluene, or BHT, a lab-made chemical that is used “for freshness,” according to the ingredient label.
You can't make this shit up.
I don't have an opinion (yet) on all these additives, but it's funny how they frame RFK's statement as being damn near a conspiracy theory, and then...yeah.

If Trump has taught us all one thing, it's that people who want to claim the mantle of the adults in the room, from experts to journalists, are really bad at it, when called upon to be clear thinking, level-headed adults. I could not have been less impressed by the cognitive and emotional output of the never-Trump masses, and their experts and their journalists. The mass ass-showing has been very educational, though.

Additives?
I'm guessing natural is better than chemical. I'd take a hard look at Canadian and European law and if it makes scientific sense, let's do it.
I think another thing we're going to take a hard look at is accurate food labeling. Many times there is enough leeway in the regs that things are confusing as to what they contain.

Preconceived viewpoint.
Nothing new about "granola Republicans". May come as a shock to you, but people of all political persuasions tend to want clean air, clean water and decent food. I've been a Republican since 1977...I grow a good bit of my own food (mostly vegetables), because it's healthier and tastes better.
My wife came from a very conservative family. They grew or raised 90% of what they ate...Cattle, hogs, chickens, quail, vegetables, fruits and a good bit of wild game. Up until her mid-70's, my MIL canned between 600-800 jars/year of fruit and vegetables.
They didn't even know what granola was...
