We are having friends over tonight who should not drink wine, so I wanted to serve something summery. Any recommendations? I have lemon, cucumber, oranges, blueberries, melon, basil, rosemary.

A little citrus in sparkling water is grand.

      Only non-witches get due process.

When I (mostly) stopped drinking I would ritually pour myself a lemony sparkling water with dinner. It just was special enough to feel like a treat. Didn’t get me drunk though, which sucked.

Unless you squash the blueberries, I do not think the blueberries will do much for the taste of the water. Basil and rosemary are fine, another good (and as a matter of subjective preference I’d say “better”) option is mint. Pineapple is also good.

          Good luck!

Cucumber slices are tasty in water.

Perhaps offer a plate with various options for your guests. They might like to try a succession of different flavors.

They probably know what they like. Drink preferences are strong, imagine shitty coffee, wine or beer. Makes you wish you brought your own.

You could also offer pairings, such as cucumber water with the appetizers/salad, herbs for the main course, and citrus or mint water with dessert. They'll feel like they're at a fancy restaurant.

You can offer a couple options with each course, so they can choose.
