Was VP Harris just such a bad candidate that the Democrats was doomed from the start?
(I think that everyone here pretty much thought she was a bad candidate from the beginning. Pats ourselves on the back)
What campaign changes could have been done? (Other than not having her as candidate)

That’s assuming there was actually a better candidate available. A non-heavy liberal does not make it out of an honest and open democrat primary. The DNC had to intervene in 2016, 2020, and 2024 would have been no different. Remember that Harris was the olive branch given to Warren and all of the other more radical branch of the party to keep Bernie from getting the nomination.

Tell you what did move the needle...One of Trump's most effective ads addressed the transgender issue, especially with guys on girl's teams and taxpayer funded transitions. It moved the needle 3% or more on every group it was tested on.

So does anybody really think that things would have had different results if Biden would have withdrawn before the primary season or if another candidate would have been named? Once the polls with their built in error was showing Trump at 48%, it was really over, in hindsight.
Again, there were no undecided voters choosing who, they were undecided on if.

They could have crafted a narrative of doing something different from the current administration. They chose "more of same" messaging instead. I don't buy any notion that this election was a done deal months ago.

@George-K I dont disagree. But, based on what he campaigns, he basically said he shut down the border.
The reality is that (and I did not do the math) it appears that President Obama average rate of illegals from 2013-2016 was lower than the average illegals under President Trump from 2017-2020
