Tried to push a lady’s broken down BMW off the road today..

And ran into a problem… It’s one of those push button ignitions. We couldn’t figure out how to put it in Neutral to push it. 4 of us checked every possible way and couldn’t find it…

I had a similar incident with my Audi. There’s a button on the side of the gearshift, where your thumb would rest. You push the lever forward while holding the button, but you have to do it SLOWLY.

Google is good at figuring out those sorts of things. That's how I learned the trick for putting my rented manual car into reverse.

It wasn’t exactly a situation that allowed time to research a lot of options… When the sheriff department showed up, we left.
