Athlete robbed of trophy by woke madness...

So kluurs ran a 5k this morning and came in third in his age(d) group. The race director announces awards by age group order. Thus, kluurs has to wait a long while for them to move from the 1-14 Female to 70-74 Male group. This year, they added a non-binary category as well. Guess what?
They ordered the same number of awards as in past years - but with the addition of the non-binary folks, they ran out of trophies before getting to the old folks.Mind you, I've had to wait a long time to be able to run this poorly and win awards - and now, I'm robbed of the glory of a trophy depecting a colorful pumpkin on a cheap plastic base.
I feel like I need to retreat to my safespace. This just brings back a flood of past deprivations.

Serves you right, you old white man, you…

That sucks. But let's appreciate their choice to add a non-binary category rather than allow the weirdos to choose which group to compete in.

I didn't care about the award - and agree that it makes more sense to have that category - though, as always, there are some complications. Not all non-binary folks are trans - and some trans folks might feel that being in the non-binary category is an afront to his/her/their identity.

Congratulations! Well I care about your award. Doing what you do at 70-74 deserves more than cheap plastic. You need real bling, a decorative bouquet, and the opportunity to boast on a podium to the speedsters of how to endure distance running for 5 decades.
