I'm of mixed feelings on this. I appreciate the talent and the feeling of the music.

But...

I remember listening to a lecture about "Messiah." The absolute mastery of Handel using the score (the actual tones) to convey the emotion of the lyrics ...

"Comfort ye..."

Descending notes - conveying ... comfort.

"Rough places plain..."

Small intervals, denoting how there is smoothness.

"Sayeth your God!"

Huge leaps denoting power, and majesty.

Somehow, this misses all those subleties.
