I've been using an electric for years (Sonicare). Felt super strong and borderline hurt the first time I used it. Fast-forward to now - using a regular toothbrush (sometimes when i've forgotten my electric ahead of a trip), feels like a toy.

I've been told that one should (ahem) eschew firm toothbrushes and just go with regular to avoid enamel damage.

Yeah, it's hard to avoid the connection between soft toothbrushes and increased incidence of dental clinic visits, amirite?

Thanks, Catseye. As far as manual toothbrushes go, I also find it virtually impossible to buy β€œfirm” toothbrush in retail stores, and have settled for β€œmedium” many times. Thanks for the Amazon link.
