    He didn't make it.

Oh no, I'm sorry Aqua. Losing a pet is absolutely miserable.

    I was only joking

      Goddammit, Aqua.

So sorry. He was so young.

Bagels keeps things pretty hilarious. He can run over, snoot-boop a cat, check out the upstairs, dive into our dirty clothes bin, jump out with a sock stuck to him, creep over to the electric fireplace and sploot right in front of it in literally the span of 8 seconds.

        "Sploot."

        I love that word.

I showed Mrs. George your pics from tonight. She said, "They're great, but so short-lived."

Nope - domestic bunnehs are good for 8-10 years.

D1 had pet rats for a while - cute, smart, loving...but only 2-3 years.

Please keep us posted. Like I said, this thread made my day.

When I dropped him off at the vet, they let me say goodbye before I left. But I didn't know that I'd be saying. Goodbye. I didn't spend nearly as much time with him as I would have.

Shit and all he did was die somewhere strange and scary rather than with us. I feel really awful about that.

          Please love yourself.

Been there, done that with a couple of pets.

            It truly sucks. Truly.

Enjoy the memories. Animals do have their own unique personalities. And I believe they know when they are loved. I hope they know how much we miss them.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bagels. The human-animal bond is such a powerful thing and losing an animal buddy is really difficult.

I know you feel like you let him down, but trust me...he knew he was a loved bunny. He had a great life with your family, and not many people would have gone to the lengths you did to try to save him. That speaks volumes about you.

                Sending hugs your way.

Eh, it's alright. This is the fifth pet we've lost in about as many years—my daughter's so used to it she's just like "oh, it happened again." With the exception of Bagels they were all old, so it wasn't much of a surprise but still, I worry about her growing up thinking losing pets on the regular is normal.

Having pets die has always sucked but I usually don't have this hard a time with it. It's a weird thing.

                        Please love yourself.
