      Insanity. He only asks for a six percent cut per year. It's at least a plan to get us off this impossible path.

            Bipartisan entitlement reform is the only real solution. But it will probably take a real emergency to make that happen.

              Kinda sorta.

              The cut does provide somewhat of a hard budget cap. As in many states, any surplus could be spent on further retiring the debt or for other things.

                I would absolutely support tying in a budget to a percent of the prior year GDP.

                  One person, addressing spending and line item vetoes...

                  Why are we spending a dime on DEI training and personnel? Why is the State Department sending billions of our dollars to foreign regimes that hate us? Why do we have more admirals than ships? The list could go on forever, but suffice it to say, one red pencil could make us fiscally responsible.

                  Don't know about that, as the line item veto probably will never happen. But the six penny plan does give some political cover.
