I’m in the business of awarding scholarships and I’m hearing exactly that from recent grads. I got a change out in place this year to accept credible trade schools for eligibility.

Colleges are mostly left wing and bloated. Too many mickey mouse degrees. Too costly. Too many federal mandates.

If we can, I'd like to see a school that's...

        A. Affordable. Exempting lab fees and the cost of living on campus, college should cost no more than $4000/semester.
        B. Student friendly. Courses should be arranged so that a student can take a 16-hour load with a mix of online and in-person classes, that allows the student to hold a 24 hr/week job and still make grades.
        C. ALL courses 200 level and below should be fully transferable to any public school in the nation.
        D. Young men and women in the service should receive college or votech school credit for service schools and training.
        E. Young men and women in the service should have access to 12 hours of free college courses per year in the service, starting 10 weeks after boot camp. After serving their enlistment, they should receive two semesters of free college for every year served.
        F. Less specialization in undergrad degrees. You learn a lot of your job at your first job.
        G. And... Businesses depend too much on college to prepare students for business. I'd like to see business step up and involve more students in internships that generate college credits towards undergrad college degrees.
