I have read through this article. It speaks of migrant labors working with very low pay and living in very poor conditions. It cites no instance of a worker being abducted there against his will, no instance of a worker disallowed to not work a particular against his will, not even an instance of a worker being paid below statutory minimum wage. It describes poor people living a hard life, it does not describe slavery.

Feel free me to cite something concrete from the article that indicates "slavery" if you believe such credible evidence is provided in that article, in case I missed it.

Also, none of the conditions, even the alleged ones (and the word "alleged" does appear many times in the article), is helped by Trump and Vance's rather irresponsible rhetoric. Heck, as DeWine states in his op-ed, Trump and Vance's rhetoric made things worse.

I think that does meet a definition of slavery. At the least, it meets a definition of indentured servitude. People are deliberately being placed in situations where they can't say no and where the wages paid are substandard for the work.

It becomes an endless cycle for poverty, and it takes jobs from American citizens, making it a twofer, giving a screwing to both sides of the populance.

Without the rhetoric, we wouldn't be talking about this at all.

Remember, debates are all about snapshots and memorable quotes. Trump broke the internet with the dog and cat comment.

Now, all 👀 are on Springfield.

I look at that as a feature, not a bug. All eyes are on Springfield and now the public is talking about the problem in other places.

The important thing is that the white saviors (and, I guess, Asian saviors) who've never set foot in Springfield, are very, very worried about the psychological damage done to the Haitians in Springfield.

They are able to take time off their busy schedules of convincing America-born blacks that the country hates them, to spare this compassion for the Haitians in Springfield. It's an impressive multi-tasking of their virtue.

                Education is extremely important.

So what happens to the Charleroi and Springfield factories that have spent the last month calling the local workforce worthless and drug addled when the Temporary Protected Status is lifted? I mean, that’s what temporary means, right? So what happens when their cheap labor force leaves?

@LuFins-Dad said in Pets For Dinner:

So what happens to the Charleroi and Springfield factories that have spent the last month calling the local workforce worthless and drug addled when the Temporary Protected Status is lifted? I mean, that’s what temporary means, right? So what happens when their cheap labor force leaves?

Their cheap labor can't afford to leave and Harris won't make them. Depending on how they immigrated, nobody may be able to make them leave.

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

So a Union in Colorado just blew the lid on the same thing happening there. Frozen Food processing pants is a running theme, here.
