Comparing Trump to Hitler

They want to charge me $40 a year to read this shit. I think I'll pass.

Other than Ax, maybe Jon is the only other poster here with a sub to WaPo. And yet Ax continues to blithely post links to WaPo articles.

Actually I was able to read that one for free. I guess WaPo allows a certain number of free looks per month, much like the sister of a certain forum member.
It's peak rhetorical vacuousness to cite Mike Godwin as a political commentator we should respect, as an expert on comparisons to Hitler.
-
I think Hitler was a national populist who really did not have any policies other than "blame it on someone else".
I dont think that President Trump is unique of US politicians in this. But, you could find things from VP Harris that compare to Hitler also.

Trump Promises Immigrants He Wants to Deport Will Get Serial Numbers
Speaking with Full Measure’s Sharyl Attkisson, Trump argued that the United States—which was founded by and has historically been a nation of immigrants—shouldn’t be a “dumping ground” for newcomers.
“But we’re getting the criminals out, and we’re going to do that fast, and we know who they are, and the local police know their names, and they know their serial numbers,” Trump said. “They know everything about them.”
Trump has regularly mimicked Adolf Hitler during his campaign. But the mention of serial numbers—a terrifying echo of the identification numbers forcibly tattooed on concentration camp prisoners—is one of his most chilling references yet.
Umm....

The "Alien Number" thing was instituted not long after 9/11 under the G. W. Bush administration.

So, with 12 years of Democrat presidents since then, why hasn't it been repealed? We all knew that W was Hitler, back in the day. Why are his acolytes continuing the process.
Next thing you know, they'll be putting them in cages.

Why do you want it repealed?

Did I say that?

Not so.
The Immigration and Naturalization Service ("INS") started issuing each noncitizen a unique A-Number in 1940 as part of the Alien Registration Program (see Alien Registration Forms). On April 1, 1944, INS started using A-Numbers to create individual files, called A-Files.
