A long time ago, I saw (and I think I posted) a video of how 60 Minutes and other outlets are (a kind word) dishonest about their interview and broadcast tactics.
The interviewee admonished anyone who consents to such an interview to bring an independent videographer, if possible, and insist that a private recording be allowed.

So my best friend, we were best man at each other’s wedding, was interviewed by a Pittsburgh ANC News Affiliate about everything going on. He starts off with an innocuous statement about the beginning and how the immigrants were accepted and looked forward to by the residents. Then the next 10 minutes were about the severe problems that followed. They cut everything but the first 10 seconds. He is the first person interviewed.

Did they interview others too? If they used some people’s clips to talk about early days and other people’s clips to talk about problems that arose later, that’s ok in my book.
Or did they just cherry pick each and every interviewees most positive comments?

Well, let’s go through them 1x1. The Haitian guy from Greg Haitian Services that they cut to next? He’s a former Haitian military officer that’s under investigation under investigation for human trafficking. The Liberian Augusta Goll with the grocery store? She had to remove a sign from her store window that said “No Whites”. Larry Celaschi, the town council member that gave a seemingly glowing review? Yeah, that’s not anything like what he’s posted on Facebook. But I’ve always hated the asshole.

Okay. The statement they read from the Charleroi Council President? She’s being sued and possibly recalled as she didn’t get approval by any other council members to make the statement on behalf of the council. In fact, Celaschi is leading that charge. AND The Mon Valley Alliance group released a statement simultaneously that had the exact same language, leading to some investigations into connections between council President Hopkins (oh, that bitch made my life hell in 10th grade) and the MVA and have discovered some interesting real estate dealings that may prove problematic for little Miss Priss.
