Only read the summary, but I think a lot of public pension plans do not pay into Social Security. I assume this would not apply to those people?

If you are paying into Social Security, and I believe you should receive the benefit.

There are a lot of people who pay into both.

Read up on the WEP and the GPO.

Then they should receive from both. Not fair to punish them.

If a person works for one the few private companies that still give a pension, those people also get Social Security.
