In Michigan, on a radio interview:

"Well, I think first and foremost, what we saw on October 7 was, was a horrific act of violence against the people of Israel. They have certainly, and the vice president said it, I've said it, have the right to defend themselves, and the United States will always stand by that."

    BUT...

"But we can't allow what's happened in Gaza to happen. The Palestinian people have every right to life and liberty themselves. We need to continue, I think, to put the leverage on to make sure we move towards a two state solution. I think we're at a critical point right now. We need the Netanyahu government to start moving in that direction. But I think those folks who are speaking out loudly in Michigan are speaking out for all the right reasons."

    All the right reasons.

What we cannot allow is combatants to hide among civilian populations. It will continue until there is a greater cost for harboring criminals than for turning them away.

What we should support, is unconditional surrender by Hamas. Until that condition is met, there should be NO humanitarian relief and ALL Permissible weapons of war may be used by the Israelis.

The democrats terrorists have figured out that women and children make good shields for their warriors.

This is not a good long term strategy.

I was going through some stuff on WW2 in the Pacific and SE Asia last night. A Japanese officer was asked who the best jungle fighters were. He said the Brits and Aussies were the best, followed closely by the Gurkhas. When asked what he thought about the Americans, he said that Americans were different, especially in the Pacific Island Campaign. Americans blew away the jungle, then sent the Marines in to kill anything still living.

The USMC was not what the Japanese expected, as they thought Americans were not fanatical fighters and just a bit soft. The Marines were just as fanatical, perhaps even more brutal (after initial Japanese atrocities on Guadalcanal, Marines usually took no prisoners, pulled gold teeth from Japanese dead and often had necklaces made form Japanese ears) and were better versed in jungle warfare than any other major combatant the Japanese faced. The Marines had a cadre of officers and senior noncoms that had fought in the Banana Wars...And it showed.

It’s only in the last 80 years that western militaries have not done that. In any other age Gaza would be a pile of rubble devoid of life.
