Not quite. True shotgun has a single hallway with a door on either end.

Now, take the width of the property, move the bedrooms to the 2nd floor, and you'll have the idea of many brownstone homes in the "Gold Coast" area of Chicago. These are very, very pricey.

Pretty close. You want that hallway to carry a breeze all the way through the house.
