I was in the cub scouts. I always thought it was a bit bizarre. I'm not sure how they were in the US, but the old English guy who ran the scouts proper lived down the road from us and there was more than a hint of Lord Kitchener about him, which even at that tender age I found a bit weird. There was a lot of time spent polishing these brass things and marching up and down towards the WW1 cenotaph. I abandoned the woggle when I broke my leg rock climbing.
