                The author’s point about it being weird is very shortsighted and not well thought out. The development of working dogs in agriculture and as protection for herds along with barn cats and even the in-house mousers were a vital part of the development of our species. They were more vital tools than a good hoe or shovel. As the interdependence grew, it’s only natural for the relationships to grow.
