Kamala's cultured and knows about food. Walz doesn't, by his own admission, because he's white. And he needs someone like Kamala to "expand his food knowledge." And because Walz is such a piece of shit white guy, Kamala can make jokes about his eating cantaloupes because that's exactly the kind of lame-ass shit white guys eat.
When Dave Chapelle made similar jokes about his own group back in the early 2000s, it was because he was trying to be so offensive that he'd be kicked off television. In other words, he knew how offensive it was.
These aren't comedians, they're political running mates. People who are at the bottom of the scale when it comes to taking communication risks. They see nothing at all wrong about this.
