Hungry for cake?

This one won the Kentucky State Fair. Peachy Keen Cake.
I really don't bake outside the occasional cobbler, largely because I would then eat what I made but also because of the time. But this looks good. I am game for anything with fresh peaches this time of year.

I could see where that would be a good cake. Looking at the others, the Guiness cake might be interesting. The Almond Joy cake is a derivative of a similar cake popular down here thirty years ago.
Baking is interesting. It doesn't lend itself to variation like other cooking skills. One of my cousins is a pretty successful baker...Competed on Food Network, has a busy bakery. His dad was a college professor and bought a bakery when he retired. Being an old Chem prof, he was a stickler for exact measurements and processes, and improved upon the previous owner's recipes. Of his kids, one really helped work in the bakery and discovered he had a flair for the decorating side. The boy runs the bakery now, the dad is gone.
He's getting within ten years of retirement and I don't know if any of his children are interested in keeping it going.
