"Vance is Weird"

"Weird" is the least liberal sort of word to use to paint an oppositional political tribe. What exactly are the blue haired girls self-identifying as in high school? They want to be weird, so they have some sort of identity, or some sort of an excuse for being unattractive. Now they're all in lockstep calling their opposition "weird". Just more evidence that the cultural left is the new conservatism, appealing to the same people as conservatism has always appealed to.

He had a nice turn of phrase today, referring to the market as the Kamala Krash.

He must have had a team of crack writers to come up with that rib tickler.

Doesn't matter. It's catchy and if things get worse, could stick.

That's weird!

She no doubt only mentioned that he didn’t mean to insult childless people who were trying to have kids.
I doubt she reiterated his intention to insult childless women who weren’t trying. What would be the point? She was sent to clean up, after all.
I doubt she reiterated his position that step parents aren’t real parents either, for the same reason.

I'll double down. Vance is backing up for political purposes, but there is more than a grain of truth in what he said.
Childless cat ladies are bad for the country. They've bought into the siren call of career and the commitment free hook-up culture.
When they've been run through by many guys through the years, when the career ended only with the contents of a cardboard box and a small retirement party soon forgotten, when there is NOBODY to take care of you as you grow old and nobody that really loves you, where is your joy?
What have you done to create family, to further society, to nourish your own soul? When you're gone, are there enough people left that care enough about you to even carry your casket?
Not all women are meant to be mothers. Not all women are meant to be wives.
But...The most stable societies are not composed of lonely cat ladies, but of women who had stable marriages, who nurtured and raised their children to be good adults and who have given of themselves to their families and community, making the country a little better place.
Maybe it's time we quit worrying about the cat ladies and start worrying about how we're screwing up the next generation...
