Had he not been vaccinated, he would likely have been incapacitated, probably from a past infection, Trump/GOP would be running against a different Democratic ticket by now.

      Incapacitated?

No, that's not what The Resident told me. He said if I was vaccinated, I wouldn't get COVID.

As I said, maybe he needs to rethink that...

I always thought that the COVID vaccine was to stop or minimize getting COVID. I don't think it was ever promoted as a 100% cure. At least that is how I understood it.

That is precisely how the vaccine was explained and promoted in this country. It was never understood to be a silver bullet.

In the moral panic of the messaging wars, where convincing people to take the vaccine was an existential priority, it was common for vaccine advocates to oversell it. I'm sure it was also common for vaccine advocates to not really understand, or care to understand, the limitations. People are not truth-seeking machines, least of all those in a position to propagate social messaging.

Forget the vaccine preventing COVID, I was told by Trump this thing was going to disappear in early 2020. I want my refund.

Same. If you were to get really sick w/o the vaccine, less sick with the vaccine. If you were to get less sick w/o the vaccine, maybe no symptoms w/ the vaccine.

Biden wasn’t the only one. And every frigging news story in the US was about it preventing you from getting COVID.

Ive had it twice after being vaccinated. Both times, I just felt really tired for about two days and had slight fever (maybe 1 degree high) and then back to normal. No cough, no loss of taste/smell, etc.

Impossible to prove, but I would like to think that the vaccine minimized the symptoms.

Well, I've had it once. Original strain, early in the pandemic. Had two jabs after, as a condition of employment. After that, told them to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Cross my fingers, haven't had it since.

And I'm around ED patients and I run the tests. And no ...I don't wear a mask unless I'm in a patient room and symptoms are obvious.

I’ve had it once, tested negative but I know that Lucas was positive, so pretty sure that I had it. I am/was half vaxed. 1 dose of a 2 dose vax. Slept for 18 hours straight and was fine. Lucas was fully vaxed., though 1 set. Had it 3 times. Moderate symptoms. Karla is unvaxxed. She’s not had it at all, and took care of Lucas and I.

I was scared as shit of COVID, initially. But the people I know that have had it the most and the worst? Vaxxed X 2 at least.
