I have to say that I was less than encouraged.

They gave a prime-time speaking spot to an Only Fans girl whose claim to to fame is dating Kanye, marrying another rapper, and dating multiple others. She’s strongly pro-abortion, pro-drag (guest starring on Ru Paul shows, and pro drugs. She’s mostly pro many positions Conservatives are against except for getting attention…

Then they had the Teamsters guy who gave all the worker platitudes and generally a speech that would have fit in just as well at the Communist Party of America convention.

Nothing to add....I gave up watching conventions decades ago.

Bunch of drunk self-important losers acting silly...

      And then there's the delegates.

        I watched the teamster speech.

I don't think it will change the historic nature of the party.

          Still haven't watched any.

But this clip on X was classic.

While I don’t agree with him on a lot, he’s definitely the adult in the party.

If you want a firebrand, he ain't your guy. He is conservative and a fundamentalist Christian, but he's got a pragmatic streak. He will compromise on some issues and he will try to work across the aisle.

I’ve got no problem with pragmatism.

Having Teamster President addressing a party dedicated to right to work has my hackles raised, though., I will carefully be going over the platform.

Just another note...The state GOP was pissed at Cassidy after the Trump Impeachment. At that time, there was talk of running Johnson against him in the next Senate primary.

                          That talk had died down...

I didn’t. This from a summary in Reason magazine:

In his RNC speech, there were plenty of scapegoats. To highlight just a few:

"NAFTA, a bad trade deal that sent countless good jobs to Mexico."
"From Iraq to Afghanistan, from the financial crisis to the Great Recession, from open borders to stagnating wages, the people who govern this country have failed and failed again."
"Wall Street barons crashed the economy, and American builders went out of business."
"Thanks to these policies that [President Joe] Biden and other out-of-touch politicians in Washington gave us, our country was flooded with cheap Chinese goods, with cheap foreign labor, and in the decades to come, deadly Chinese fentanyl."

Literally all of those were Bush Administration (1 and 2) initiatives and/or failures. But he blames Biden?

Yeah I watched two thirds or more of it. I noticed the same; pinning Bush admin initiatives and follies on Biden.

The guy could easily shoe horn himself into provincial politics here with the UCP. Opportunist. Like Jolly said, a big tipi booster.

His yak leaves me cold. Will wait and see how he fairs as VP to Trump

                                      Elbows up!

Mike Johnson has been about the only politico to impress me so far

If you want a firebrand, he ain't your guy. He is conservative and a fundamentalist Christian, but he's got a pragmatic streak. He will compromise on some issues and he will try to work across the aisle.

I’ve got no problem with pragmatism.

Having Teamster President addressing a party dedicated to right to work has my hackles raised, though., I will carefully be going over the platform.

I have a hunch that we’re finally seeing the actual Trump that I was concerned about and voted against in 2016.

Yeah, you think he's a dictator.

                                          Drink. Drink deeply...

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton
