@Renauda said in What are you listening to now?:
If you enjoy swing check out the band Asleep at the Wheel.
I "found" this album that they did with Willie Nelson. Very fun album.

I think it's sadly telling that YouTube put this at the top of my recommended feed.

Fun Video (at least for me). LOL Video of Bruce Springsteen getting a request for a song that they have never done before (You Never Can Tell - Chuck Berry). Fun to see how they put it together.
I have zero improvisation skills with music, so would never ever ever be able to do something like this.

Not a Springsteen fan. Never have been.
(just kid you. You still have (mainly) good taste in music!)
Edit: you may like his album when he was at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Here is one song.

Another song from his new album. I like it.
Lying in the meadow green
Dangling legs in a mountain stream
From the limb we could jump right in
Again and again and again and againUp in the orchard on the hill
Sat right down and had our fill
And though the clouds are touched with grey
We know no rain will fall todaySo let's take the long way home
And circle round the standing stone
through the fields and the old barway
We fill our pockets up with pecan along the wayAll along the railroad track
Slip off that rail, break your back
Hear the sound of the croaking toad
The sun so round, and red, and lowSummertime, summertime
Summertime must yield to fall
And that's what hurts me most of allSummertime, summertime
said goodbye at the garden wall
From the house I can hear my momma callin'
Winter come to us all my friend
Just as every childhood has an end -
The Lost Recordings
Stan Getz Astrud Giberto Live at the Berlin Jazz Festival 1966 # 1602 of 3000 pressings on 180 gram vinyl remastered from the original analog tapes. It's so good!Oh, yeah, that's a new turntable and cartridge since the last post. I went a little crazy on that purchase.

My piano teacher Thomas Schwan is doing a small tour playing Chopin's complete nocturnes. I noticed he'll be around where a few forumites live. He's previously played the complete WTC1 and WTC2, and the houses are not always packed, as you can see from the videos. I wish I could have gone to his recital near Dallas tonight. He'll be in Chicago in November. I doubt the houses will be packed, if his WTC recitals are an indication.
