It Is Time for Radical Candor
We are governed by imbeciles and thieves and miscreants and degenerates.https://thedispatch.com/article/it-is-time-for-radical-candor/
The author was originally tasked with writing a profile on Aaron Dimmock, a primary challenger to Matt Gaetz, but somehow ended with this glorious piece.
EPIC rant, you want to read this, the whole thing! But we could really use some damn radical candor. Because we are governed by imbeciles and thieves and miscreants and degenerates and people who are willing to put up with all that imbecility and thievery and miscreance and degeneracy if it gets them even such a pathetic prize as a temporary seat in the U.S. House of Representatives serving on behalf of the lovely folks who have freely chosen Matt Gaetz, of all bipedal things, as their man in Washington. I don’t know that my own personal soul is worth all that much, but I’d expect more than that in trade. …

That's a remarkable piece. No wonder it strongly appealed to P*D, with its impotent tribal rage against Trump, and the giggle factor of adolescent sick burns. But it didn't actually list a single thing that's so risible about Dimmock, other than that he professes to be a pro-Trump Republican.
Something tells me that Williamson didn't call Dimmock a coward in their short conversation, which makes it ironic that he then writes it in his column. 100% chance Williamson does not say that to his face. Again ironic.
Maybe you don’t think that should be a crime, and maybe you think nobody would get charged in those circumstances if he weren’t Donald Trump. Fair enough.
Williamson writes that like this fact is a meaningless triviality.
